Cheerleading
Cherrybrook Public School is proud to have a very successful and energetic cheerleading team - The ‘Cherryblossoms.’
At the end of each year, students in Year 3, 4 and 5 audition to be part of the team. The team consists of boys and girls, bringing with them varying abilities and talents. Dance and acrobatics skills are essential for this team.
Our Cherryblossoms represent the school at state and nationwide cheerleading and dance events. Cherrybrook Public School’s Cherryblossoms have achieved great success as the State and National Scholastic Grand Champions. The Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF) are the leaders in this industry and recognise the talents and achievements of our students.
Chess Lessons
Chess lessons are provided weekly by Sydney Academy of Chess during lunchtime on Wednesdays. They provide professional chess coaches which gives the students attending chess lessons, the opportunity to play games against each other under supervision. This is followed by an interactive segment teaching new strategies. At the end of each lesson awards are given to students who display good problem-solving skills or show improvement.
Cherrybrook Public School allows students in Years 1-6 to participate in these chess lessons. The Sydney Academy of Chess is a private company and fees apply.
