Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Primary Proms Kakadu Concert
Our Junior Choir students performed in the Primary Proms Kakadu Concert at Sydney Town Hall. The Primary Proms features a Combined Primary Choir of 450 voices from Years 3 to 4, together with outstanding instrumental and vocal items from public schools across NSW.
We were very fortunate to have our Big Band students also perform at this prestigious event. All our students represented our school with pride and did an outstanding job.
Premiers Debating Workshop
The Cherry Blossoms and The Cherry Ripes, Cherrybrook's two Stage 3 debating teams, attended the Premier's Debating Challenge Workshop at West Pennant Hills Public School.
The students learnt about the structure, rules and how to plan and participate in a debate. Our teams not only improved their debating skills (Matter, Manner and Method) as individuals, but also learnt how to work as a team, support arguments and rebut the opposition's arguments.
NAIDOC Celebrations
Our school proudly celebrated the 50th Anniversary of NAIDOC Week with a series of meaningful and engaging events that honoured the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The week began with a powerful Smoking Ceremony, setting a reflective and respectful tone for the days ahead. Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of Indigenous activities within their classrooms, deepening their understanding and appreciation of First Nations cultures.
Our celebrations concluded with a joyful and heartfelt gathering in song, bringing our school community together to celebrate unity, culture, and connection during this special milestone year.
Book Character Parade
Our 2025 Book Character Parade was a wonderful finale to this year’s Book Week celebrations.
Students, staff and volunteers are to be congratulated on such a joyous and fun day. What a great way to celebrate the magic of books and reading with a day full of amazing costumes, laughter and applause.
